The Impossible

Nothing in this world is impossible if you have faith, and that is what Joe Nichols is trying to get across in his 2002 hit, The Impossible. I always used to listen to music because it had a good beat or I liked the artist until this song was played at my cousin's funeral. That was the first time I truly listened to lyrics and took in the meaning of a song. Now when I listen to songs I always try to find the hidden meanings of the song and incorporate it into my life.
This song is telling people that in life there are no obstacles that you cannot overcome if you set your mind to do something and go for it. Like in the song it said that Billy got in a bad car crash and the doctors told him that he would never walk again, but he was determined he would and on his graduation day he got out of his wheel-chair and walked to receive his diploma. I feel that is a very strong message and that it touched many people. Also, what i got from this song is that you can overcome any obstacle. For example in my family we played this song about my cousin's death because we knew it was an obstacle in the road that we had to overcome and i feel that it fit the situation very well.
This is a slower country styled song that was made from inspiration. The purpose of this song is to tell people to never give up on life because no matter how big your obstacles because there are always miracles that miraculously get you through anything. This song is aimed at any person that is struggling in life, to tell them to keep their head up because with a little faith and will power they will overcome their troubles. Nichols stance about this song is that in your time of trouble, this song will inspire you to get through it. This is a spoken song in the media, it is played all over the world via concerts, internet and in my case funerals.

  1. This was one of my favorite songs when I was kid, great post man, I'm sorry to hear that about your cousin, but just as you said it's an obstacle that everyone who loses a loved one must overcome, and I'm glad to hear that you and your family either have or are trying to.

  2. This is a good song that has a lot of meaning to it, and there are many times in life unfortunately where something bad happens to someone or a family, but it is something that you have to fight through otherwise things will never get any better!
